Seagate strengthens its commitment to Saudi Arabia through strategic partnerships
Robert Hedman, Seagate Europe, Middle East and Africa Sales Director, Enterprise HDD, SSD & System gave an overview of their recent project with SNC ICT and a leading bank in Saudi Arabia.
SNC ICT is System Integrator based in Saudi Arabia with over 20 years of experience catering to various industry segments, predominately- Utility, Education, Municipalities, Defense and Healthcare. Seagate Technology have partnered with SNC ICT to work closely on integration projects within KSA. The end customer, a multinational bank with a lot of branches in KSA were looking for Enterprise HDDs for their integration project. We had to meet the customer’s technical requirements, fit within their allocated budget as well as respect their tight timeline. We were able to fulfill all of their requirements successfully.
The End User selected 3,348 EXOS Enterprise class HDDs from Seagate.
Laying emphasis on the product, Hedman said, “designed to handle the most rigorous workloads, the Seagate Exos X series enterprise class drives are highly reliable solutions for all industries using servers, storage systems, and business-centric NAS systems. As the flagship of the Seagate X class, the Exos X18 enterprise hard drives were recently launched providing the highest-capacity hard drives in the fleet.”
Digitization has been the centre of Saudi Vision 2030 and companies are investing in solutions to keep with evolving technology trends. With this in mind, Hedman highlighted that “as a part of the digital transformation, we can see technologies like AI, machine learning, IoT and 5G proliferating globally. While a lot of data may be generated, most of it may not be put to work by companies because of lack of efficient IT infrastructure. Company data needs to be stored, managed and accessed efficiently in order to bring value to the business. This is where we believe that storage will play a major role and Seagate having a full range of solutions including systems, HDDs and SSDs for various segments of enterprise can address these requirements and be a key partner.”
Giving a gist on how Seagate plans to contribute towards the nation’s ambitious vision, he said “Saudi Vision 2030 pertains to reduce Saudi Arabia's dependence on oil, diversify its economy, and develop public service sectors such as health, education, infrastructure, recreation, and tourism. Digital transformation will inevitably be a part of this since the Kingdom is looking to develop Smart Cities and an E-Government. Since data and data storage is an integral part of any Digital transformation, and since we have partnered with SNC ICT, we look forward to supporting and providing various data storage solutions to facilitate this transition.”
