The Ministerial Committee assigned by the Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit holds a meeting with the Vice President of the People's Republic of China

The Ministerial Committee assigned by the Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit held a meeting with the Vice President of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Han Zheng, on Monday, November 20, 2023, chaired by His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the Great Hall of the people in the Capital, Beijing. The members of the Ministerial Committee participated in the meeting are His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ayman Al-Safadi, His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mr. Sameh Shoukry, and His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine, Riad Malki, Her Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Ms. Retno Marsudi, and His Excellency the Secretary of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hussein Ibrahim Taha.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chinese Vice President praised the high efforts of the joint Arab Islamic extraordinary summit in Riyadh, and the resulting decisions aimed at reducing the escalation, protecting civilians, and restoring peace efforts, stressing his country’s support for the efforts of the joint ministerial committee emerging from the summit to continue its diplomatic efforts and play a greater role in that matter.
The Chinese Vice President said that his country has been working, since the outbreak of the crisis in Gaza, to strongly push for a ceasefire, protect civilians, allow humanitarian relief, and find a just solution to the Palestinian issue, noting that China is keen to coordinate and work with Arab and Islamic countries to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and ensuring calm as quickly as possible.
Furthermore, the members of the Ministerial Committee praised the positions taken by China regarding the crisis in the Gaza Strip, which are consistent with Arab and Islamic positions, pointing to the positive role played by China in the Security Council towards a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The meeting also discussed developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip and its surroundings, and the importance of reaching an immediate ceasefire, protecting unarmed civilians, and vital facilities, including houses of worship and hospitals, such as the storming of Al-Shifa Hospital, the attack on the Indonesian hospital, and relief and shelter centers in the Gaza Strip.
The members of the ministerial committee assigned by the Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit stressed the importance of immediately halting the military escalation, the forced displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, securing safe corridors for the entry of urgent humanitarian aid, and reviving the path of the peace process in accordance with international resolutions, in order to guarantee the rights of the Palestinian people and the establishment of their independent state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The members of the ministerial committee stressed the importance of the international community fulfilling its responsibility, especially the permanent members of the Security Council, to move towards stopping the flagrant Israeli violations of international laws and international humanitarian law.
